Guy came to Edinburgh in June 2016 to deliver speech writing training to newly elected Members of the Scottish Parliament, MSPs from all the main Scottish political parties. His workshops were engaging and informative and inspired many of the MSPs to apply what they had learnt in their maiden speeches. As well as training the first-time parliamentarians, Guy also helped a number of them write and edit those first speeches. I’ve always found him to be knowledgeable and enthusiastic when it comes to all matters concerning rhetoric. He’s also proven himself to be an authoritative and entertaining chair and MC of a number of UK Speechwriter Guild conferences, a duty which includes dealing with the high spirits and sometimes raucousness that can on occasion accompany after-dinner speaking competitions! I would strongly recommend Guy as a both a speechwriter and a trainer.
